Finished this triptych a month ago and finally posting. Was a gift for Jillian our daughter-in-law. I love hay bales and plan to paint a bunch more, after my beach series. I love the beach and our farm lands. I am Texan after all.

I'm excited to announce that I will be part of a national abstract exhibit in Santa Cruz, CA entitled "Energy and Stillness," juried by John Maxon. If you are in the area, hope you will attend. Had a fabulous time in San Francisco last month visiting my talented and beautiful artist friend Nancy Boyton Hartley and husband Brian, seeing the sights, meeting with the charming Alina of Alina B and seeing the fabulous Pierre Bonnard exhibit at the Legion of Honor museum. They wined and dined me to no end!! Here are a few highlights. 

I'll also be a part of WEST - the West Austin Studio Tour starting this weekend. More detail to come on that shortly so stay tuned!!

If you haven't seen "Nature Interpreted", my collaboration with photographer Jack Marshall that combines his stunning nature photographs from around the world with my painterly interpretations of them — ranging from impressionism to full abstraction — swing by Bruegger's Bagels in Westlake this week or next. 3267 Bee Caves Road at Walsh Tarlton (SW corner). 

We had a wonderful turn out to our Saturday morning art reception for "Nature Interpreted" last month. And sold some works to dear friends. Yay! And made new friends. Doesn't get much better. All good!! 

We take the exhibit down Feb. 27. 25% of proceeds benefit the Eanes ISD art department. Love being part of this circle of inspiration.

Finally getting some pics up from the always-fabulous Five x Seven exhibit and party that benefits The Contemporary Austin. The 2015 event was held in late February and I was thrilled to be one of hundreds of participating artists who donated their 5x7" creations. In doing so, we contribute to a wonderful museum, AND find new collectors! 

If you've never been, it's quite an unique and fun event. Art collectors and artists mingle and engage all evening. The work is displayed with the artist's name on the back (I painted over this signature before donating it), so you don't know who the artists are. There's an hour or two to view all the work as you enjoy amazing cocktails and foodie-good noshes. Each 5x7 work has a numbered tag. At 8pm a buzzer sounds and everyone goes running to pull the tag for their favorite artwork. I was so excited my little painting was claimed right after the buzzer. Sweet! 

My painting is right over my head.
