Have so enjoyed painting my beach series. I took some inspiring pics this summer on South Padre Island, and I have a bunch from my trip to the Mayan Riviera. I try to capture the evocative spirit of these exotic regions so we can remember the magic right here at home.

Finished this triptych a month ago and finally posting. Was a gift for Jillian our daughter-in-law. I love hay bales and plan to paint a bunch more, after my beach series. I love the beach and our farm lands. I am Texan after all.

Here is one more palm tree painting in my beach series. This one is a horizontal version. I love painting beach scenes of my favorite spot on the Mayan Riviera, especially when we are experiencing cold temps in Austin! Wish I were on the beach!

I enlarged this piece from a study I did called "Missing Arizona." As this one turned out to have a lot of bronze colors (the colors associated with arch angel Gabriel), and the dark rust markings toward the bottom reminded me of an angel flying with a long trumpet, I decided to title it "Gabriel's Call." It is on exhibit at Bruegger's Bagels in Westlake through the 24th of November. Contact me via if interested. If you are outside of Austin, I will set up a pay pal button for you with personalized shipping costs. So appreciate!!!
